Live Demonstration of a RoboLector Tool Raised Significant Interest

Short Review of the Successful BPD Workshop

All conference participants attended our workshops on automated cultivation on a microbioreactor. They were impressed by the RoboLector’s handling. Due to the close-up view, the participants could see the smooth interaction between the microbioreactor and the liquid handling platform and watch the online monitoring on the BioLection software screen

All conference participants attended our workshops on automated cultivation on a microbioreactor. Before an m2p-labs application specialist started the experiment, the participants prepared the plates, covering them with specific sealing foils and placing them into the BioLector®. With hands-on guidance, the attendees started the fully-automated experimental processes. They were impressed by the RoboLector’s handling, with set triggers for automated sampling and dosing (adding inducers and feed solution) while the plate was still shaking. Due to the close-up view, the participants could see the smooth interaction between the microbioreactor and the liquid handling platform and watch the online monitoring on the BioLection software screen. The workshop was closed with a lively dialog between the companies’ applications specialists and potential users about the RoboLector’s features.

RoboLector features

  • A BioLector is implemented into a liquid handling system, upgrading it to a RoboLector for fully-automated experimental processes
  • Programs its own triggers for automated sampling and adding inducers and feed solution
  • Sets up exemplary processes, including Design of Experiment (DoE)-based media preparation and several signal-triggered actions
  • The monitoring and controlling of the autonomous process
  • Analysis of the data with the systems’ software
