Innovative analyzers for microfermentation, that's our business. We develop microbioreactors for cultivation with microorganisms. The real-time measurement of the most important parameters in small-scale experiments allows time- and cost-saving bioprocess development. The BioLector® with patented technology from m2p-labs is used in many well-known research and industrial laboratories in the biotech industry around the world. Our headquarters are currently in Baesweiler; however, we will move to Aachen in the medium term.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and new or further development of desktop applications and device controllers with C#/WPF and C++/Qt
  • Creation of automated component and integration tests
  • Analysis and optimization of existing developments
  • Supervision of the entire Development Life Cycle

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science/Computational Engineering Science/Electrical Engineering or a completed vocational training (as a software developer or IT specialist in the field of application development or similar.
  • Some years of experience in application development in C#/WPF and/or C++/Qt in an agile environment.
  • Optional experience in the development of embedded systems with YOCTO.
  • Knowledge of common design patterns, frameworks, and development tools.
  • A high level of commitment, initiative, creativity and teamwork.

Contribute your technical development skills to our hardware development team by applying your expertise to the development of our microbioreactors, further developing them and analyzing and improving existing solutions while aligning with regulatory requirements.

As a key team member, you will work cross-functionally on programs to develop new products and improve existing laboratory equipment, as well as on customer-facing product facelifts

Responsibilites: 

  • Designing and installing electronic assemblies and performing functional testing, sub-assembly testing, and post-integration system level testing.
  • Troubleshooting and re-design at component, module or system level.
  • Optimizing system performance (functional, workflow, and analytical) for prototype devices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electronics Engineering or Mechatronics with a major in Electrical Engineering or in a related technical field.
  • Designing and installing electronic assemblies and performing functional testing, sub-assembly testing, and post-integration system level testing.
  • Troubleshooting and re-design at component, module or system level.
  • Optimizing system performance (functional, workflow, and analytical) for prototype devices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English. Skill in working with internal and external partners in a highly dynamic environment.

Beckman Coulter is looking for an experienced Technical Product Manager (in the Business Unit Biotechnology) in the field of mammalian cell culture to guide product strategy for our Particle Counting and Characterization (PCC) Cell Health Product Line. We need an outstanding person to collect Voice of Customer (VOC) to drive new product development, as well as develop business plans and product positioning in the marketplace. Candidate will also oversee market research, monitor competitive activity and identify customer needs, establish pricing strategies, and with engineering, manufacturing and sales to develop new products or enhance existing product(s) or product line(s). This candidate will responsibility for overall results of assigned product lines or business portfolio, principal revenue growth, and margin expansion targets.

This role is cross-functional and will require you to work closely with Global & Regional Marketing, Program Management, R&D, Applications, Service, Sales, and other technical teams to assess and communicate your product strategy. Other details of the role are as follows:

Responsibilities:

  • You will focus on the Particle Counting and Characterization (PCC) Cell Health Portfolio and Product Roadmap.
  • You will work closely with R&D on development of products for mammalian cell culture.
  • You will test and verify new products for mammalian cell culture in the lab.
  • You will analyze and supervise markets through segmentation, market research, and customer insights.
  • Lead creation, execution, and analysis of Voice-Of-Customer plans.
  • Shown previous success in leading innovation projects, launch, and commercialization of products
  • Lead product obsolescence and discontinuation decisions for lifecycle management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s / Master´s /PhD in biology or biotechnology or similar.
  • Some years of proven track record in Product Management or R&D departments.
  • Proven mandatory background in mammalian cell culture, ideally hands on lab experience preferred.
  • Experience with cell line development or bioprocess optimization is a plus.
  • Several years of experience within Life Science, Diagnostics, or related scientific industry preferred.
  • Ability to work and influence all levels of the organization from Senior Leaders, Functional Leaders to project managers and practitioners in all functional areas and gain followership.
  • Passion for collaboration, bringing interpersonal and influencing skills and high level of positive citizenship to a matrix distributed team.
  • Language skills: German and English on a fluent level.

  • Assures compliant process conformance and complete product documentation, inclusive of product design history, Process and Service documentation, supporting successful product realization and product lifecycle management.
  • Partner with teams ensuring products and services conformance to requirements of ISO 9001 and Beckman Coulter Quality Systems with particular focus on Design Controls, Document Controls, Risk Management (per ISO 14971) and Production and Service Controls. 
  • Ensures organizational alignment, oversight and implementation of corporate process including design controls, product and environmental requirements.

Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in engineering, science or related field, or equivalent experience required, MS Degree or higher preferred
  • Certified Quality Engineer (SQA) and/or Auditor Certification desired
  • Some years of experience in product development, manufacturing and / or quality in medical device, pharmaceutical, or related regulated field  (e.g FDA, DoD, Aerospace, Automotive)
  • Communicates effectively across functions and able to identify, plan, develop and facilitate quality system integration, process improvements and drive change cross functionally.
  • Awareness of industry standards and regulations and how they relate to internal policies and procedures. Influences interpretation of internal policies and procedures to ensure quality and compliance.

  • Manages changing conditions, processes and approaches, leading teams/orgs effectively through change.
