FERM-FACTORY inaugurated at RWTH Aachen University

New center for the development of applications

The FERM-FACTORY should serve as a development hub for institutes and partners focusing on biological sciences.

Initiated and established by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Eiden of the westphalian university of applied science, Recklinghausen, and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Lars Blank of the RWTH Aachen University, the fermentation laboratory was opened on July 7. The new center for the development of applications, the so called „Applikationszentrum" (APZ), is intended to serve as a development hub for institutes and partners focusing on biological sciences. The aim of this newly established network center is, to enable companies and scientific institutions the development of device prototypes and the interlinked processes within a short timeframe. The development cycles should be less than one year. The FERM-FACTORY should also serve as an education and training and center.
