NextGen Microfluidic Microtiter Plates

Flexible BioProcess Control

An improved manufacturing process has made it possible to reduce the CV (coefficient of variation) of the pneumatically pumped liquid volumes to ≤ 6%

The NextGen Microfluidic Microtiter Plates (NextGen MF MTP) pave the way for even more advanced process development and optimization of pH-regulated and fed-batch strategies. An improved manufacturing process has made it possible to reduce the CV (coefficient of variation) of the pneumatically pumped liquid volumes to < 6% *1. This increases the reliability and comparability of results generated in the microfluidic mode of the BioLector Pro. The figure below shows 32 pH-regulated, parallel fed-batch cultivations of Escherichia coli in the new microfluidic FlowerPlate.

*1 Determined with fluorescein-containing aqueous buffer at a pump rate of 5 µL/h.

One of our customers has already used the NextGen MF MTP:

We have been delighted by the performance of the new microfluidic chip for the BioLector. It is great to see the improved precision and reproducibility the system exhibits allotting nanoliter amounts of liquid. This new setup significantly speeds up our bioprocess development workflows allowing to tackle critical design question already at early laboratory stage.

Nothing will change as regards your application: The microfluidic microtiter plate is still available in both the patented flower shape and conventional round well design. The possible optode combinations for the online and non-invasive measurement of pH and dissolved oxygen also remain the same.
